Woolorama’s 50-year celebration was worth the wait

I was proud to attend the 50th Wagin Woolorama with seven other senior team members from Johnson Property Group (JPG). Ever since last year’s last minute cancellation we’ve been looking forward to this event- it’s one of our favourite events – and 2023, when we finally got to celebrate a monumental 50 years, was a standout and well worth the wait.

It was a pleasure to see Malcolm Edward, who won the Medal of the Order of Australia in this year’s Australia Day Honours, receive recognition for all his years of dedication to the Merino industry, his part in starting Wagin Woolorama and his service to such a resilient community.

For us at JPG the 50th Woolorama with its 25,000 attendance record was an opportunity to meet with friends and clients in the lull between the holidays and when the farming season starts in earnest.

For us, Woolorama is a not-to-be missed opportunity to mix with existing clients, rekindle long-term relationships and meet new members of the communities of Wagin and surrounds. A shout out to those of you who paid us a visit!

We loved our position overlooking the Merino State Sheep Show and we want to thank Merino Head Steward Peter Foley for his hospitality and the entire Wagin Woolorama organising committee for a fabulous event.

To all of you, clients and friends new and old, our thanks for making our time at Woolorama so enjoyable. Our team connected with many discussing opportunities to progress further with off farm assets, portfolio diversification, snapshot on high performing asset classes and on and off market opportunities. Needless to say the conversations were vast and important for what individuals needed to know from our senior consultants who were available to connect over the 2 days.

We’re open to these conversations at Woolorama or any time. More than anything for us Woolorama was a great chance to reconnect with a community that regrouped so seamlessly, rebounding so well after last year’s cancellation.

We are looking forward to a block buster Woolorama return in 2024.
